Credit and Debit Card Acceptance
If your department accepts payment cards on behalf of Washington University in St. Louis, it is your responsibility to prevent the loss of all customers’ Personal Identifiable Information (PII) including but not limited to cardholder data used to process transactions. Failure to secure this sensitive information can result in fines and fees, loss of merchant department account, and severe damage to the WashU brand; including the merchant department and the university as a whole.
Controlled Substances in Laboratory and Animal Research
Controlled substances must be purchased, stored, used and disposed of in accordance with extensive federal and state regulations.
Consensual Faculty-Student Relationships
When one partner to a consensual romantic, dating or sexual relationship holds a position of academic or professional authority with respect to the other partner in connection with their University roles, the potential may exist for favoritism, breach of trust, abuse of power, or conflicts of interest. Such situations may also raise questions concerning the consensual nature of the relationship.

Clinical Trials Registration
WashU faculty and staff who execute clinical trials subject to the FDA policy, the NIH policy, or the ICMJE policy should register (or ensure the registration of) all trials as required.
